RE:GENERATION | DJ Documentary [preview]

Ray Manzarek tells Rolling Stone of a new song he’s recorded with Robby Krieger and John Densmore, as well as popular DJ/producer Skrillex (Sonny Moore). The recording session and song are part of a new documentary film, RE:GENERATION, that recruited five popular DJs/producers to work with artists from five separate genres and had them record new music. Strong Arm Steady x Self Scientific x Skeme x Sick Jacken | The Ultra Shore Lounge [10.07.11]

Someone roll the red carpet out for the west coast has arrived! Tonight Long Beach’s The Ultra Shore Lounge will play host to this super event. Strong Arm Steady is doing its rounds for the Arm and Hammers tour and it being LA and all they had to pull out some extra stops. A little Self Scientific to get the words flowing, some Skeme for that kickback fee, and of course you need that gritty CA that Sick Jacken always delivers. If you can make it out to the show tonight have tons of fun, it’s going to be a good one!

Break Science Feat. Talib Kweli, CX, & more | Artist Spotlight

Further Than Our Eyes Can See is the name of his EP, Break Science is an artist who takes his music a step past simple beats and more into Glitch-hop. With heavily hip-hop influenced drums, thick basslines, and romping w0b, Break Science is truly unique. His instrumentals alone get my head bopping, but then he goes and colabs with Talib Kweli, CX, and The Dry High Crew and really gets me going. I’ll admit that this is different from the other music that’s posted on here, but different isn’t always bad.
